What are the walk in closets?

The wardrobes sometimes go unnoticed, because basically their only function is to contain. Admittedly, however, there are different ways to contain, a requirement that end in itself, but which can also be enhanced if, at the same time, aims to furnish.



The easiest and immediate way to decorate a room used to contain, is not by using common closets and wardrobes, but functional walk-in closets: the design possibilities offered by them enable to exploit fully and creatively the space available.

The closets are furniture systems strictly tailored to effectively equip rooms dedicated to contain and store.
The walk-in closets are based on paneling or self-supporting wainscoting, attached to the wall, to which are attached the adjustable shelves, drawers and accessories. Each type of hardware is camouflaged in the structure, for a clean design, elegant and modern.

Sometimes closets are designed and built without doors or opening systems, so as to make them more neat, practical and straightforward arrangement of objects and their identification, especially when you are in a hurry!

With walk-in closet, the old style wardrobe becomes more rational and functional, so you have everything well placed and better visible and close at hand, transforming even the smallest spaces in zones of greater livability and refinement.

Equipment for walk-in closets

Every walk-in closet must be equipped with a certain set of accessories, which can vary in the number and arrangement, according to the individual needs.

The basic elements are represented by a number of shelves and hanging rails. As regards the first, I advise to always place a number of them in the upper part of the closet: this area can then be used to store those things that you use more rarely, such as suitcases, sports equipment or blankets for the season change.

The hanging rails, however, must be placed at different heights, so you have the possibility to easily hang coats and clothes at the top, jackets and skirts in the lower one.

The standard equipment is completed with one or more drawers to store linens and most delicate items.

Among the accessories that can be considered as a kind of option of a walk-in closet are the trouser hangers, fixed or removable, very comfortable to preserve this piece of clothing so that it is always impeccably ironed.
Some trouser hangers are also accompanied by practical trays.

Another specific and very useful accessory is the tie rack which can also be removable.
The equipment can be completed with pockets for clothes and boxes to store hats, bags and accessories.

We also recommend that you do not forget to have at hand a clotheshanger, especially if the closet is high, so you can reach even the clothes hanging above.

Finally, if the closet is wide enough, it will be possible to equip it with a mirror, for which you will need to pay particular attention to the interior lighting.

Walk-in closets, handcrafted or industrial

The walk-in closets constitute a system of furniture which, as said, must be tailor made, to adapt to shapes and sizes of the spaces available.
As for the modular kitchens, also in this case it is possible to realize custom programs, both through the handicraft production, and using the modular elements provided by furniture industry.

And of course, the door can be done in any type of essence, be lacquered, glass or coated with a mirror, the latter solution is particularly useful for a walk-in closet.

In the case of handcrafted pieces, particular attention is paid to the characteristics of the environment in which to place it. The bottom of the wall is left open to allow the natural transpiration and avoiding the formation of mold.

The rack rods are finished in silver aluminium with a wooden frame. The chests of drawers, placed on a wooden base, can be moved easily. All floors are adjustable in height and are independent from each other, in addition, each floor is equipped with a hanging tube in polished metal chrome.

If necessary, you can make the plasterboard walls, light and cheap. The closet will then be closed with a four sliding and folding shutters door, to the outside, so as to leave an adequate space inside and exploit to the maximum even when small.

Shoulder frame cabinets

One of the systems of realization of walk-in closets is the one called shoulder frame, which allows to give life to open cabinets or more traditional cabinets with doors and side panels, without the need of fixing to the wall.

It is a system that has qualities of multi-functionality and versatility, which we find for example in the program Mercantini, design by Silvano Barsacchi, marketed by Arredi e Mobili.

The basic version has a frame in gray or white anthracite, with wooden components in oak barrels, and white pine; however, you can customize your closet by choosing any of the lacquer in the colors RAL finishes, dimensions and also in view of the modular components. The cabinets also feature optional LED lighting installed on the frame.

The technicians perform a free inspection to detect the actual measurements of the environment in which the closet will be installed.
Then we proceed to elaborate the final design, the interior designers developed free design in CAD treated in detail and, where necessary, also equipped with photo-realistic render.
