The arrival of spring in Milan also introduce one of the favorite moments by the Milanese, in addition to all the visitors who travel to the capital of Lombardy on this occasion: the Salone del Mobile and the highly anticipated Fuorisalone.
When we speak of Fuorisalone we mean the set of events distributed in different areas of the city of Milan, which follow one another and come to life in conjunction with the International Furniture Fair, hosted in Rho Fiera. Every year Fuorisalone and Salone define the Milan Design Week, the most important event in the world for design addicted.
Fuorisalone, which this year will take place from April 14th to 19th, was born spontaneously in the early eighties by the will of companies active in the field of furniture and industrial design.
Currently it has extended to many related sectors, including automotive, technology, telecommunications, art, fashion and food.
Fuorisalone is the most important and prestigious event linked to the world of design on an international scale and it has 400,000 visitors and experts from 160 countries in 1200 recorded events in the city.
Among the many planned events, it is very original the idea that led to the creation of the exhibition including the projects of famous designers and international artists on the theme of urban beehive.
All social animals have in fact the need to build shelters, nests or dens to find protection from the dangers of the external environment.
But few reach the architectural perfection of bees: hexagonal cells arranged side by side with pinpoint precision, studied by scientists and mathematicians, as well as imitated by designers of all time.
The honeycomb structure is used profusely in the interior design, in fabrics, in car's radiation grills and in modular form of many residential agglomerations.
It is therefore a tribute to the bees and a reflection on the dwelling, the first exhibition in Italy of urban beehives, visible to the opening of 14 April in Milan Garibaldi station around an installation that simulates a turf and projects will be exhibited in phytodepuration plant pots, combining in an original architecture, design and respect for the environment.
Green Island 2015: urban hives, unique exhibition of its kind, it exposes the works of artists such as the Londoner Judith Cowan UDITH who designed the hive as a design object, complete with a yellow roof that turns, when necessary, in a stool to extract honey or Liberni Andrea, who has created a tower house full of hexagonal windows.
At the Fuorisalone there is also room for two opposing worlds: The rational and the irrational world, created by designer Marcel Wanders for LG Hausys.
The concept of the two opposing worlds, adopted for the installation by LG Hausys and designed by Marcel Wanders for the Fuorisalone 2015, is not a simple spatial arrangement, but a real sensory experience. In this space, where reason and emotion meet, HI-MACS becomes art.
Marcel Wanders, described by the New York Times as the Lady Gaga of the design, is a prolific designer of product and interior, but it is also the artistic director and co-founder of Moooi, to his credit over 1700 projects for private clients and many marks of excellence including Alessi, B & B Italy, Bisazza, Kosé Corporation/ Cosme Decorte, KLM, Flos, Swarovski, Puma, etc ...
In his creations Marcel often combines innovative materials and techniques with direct references to historical styles and known archetypes, so that users can easily find a connection with his creations and appreciate them over time, while creating sustainable environments.
HI-MACS® by LG Hausys is a natural acrylic stone that can take any form.
It is a material widely used for interior fittings and architectural projects with sculptural forms and high performance, including facades, wall or kitchens, bathrooms and surfaces of furniture, in shopping malls, private spaces and public places.
He was inspired by the innovation of the materials produced by LG Hausys, as well as their versatility and quality performance, Wanders tells the story of the endless possibilities offered by the products, and does so through an amazing creation.
The original project focuses on the contrast between the themes of the macrocosm, with an ornamental representation of the vastness of the universe at multiple levels, and that of the microcosm, with its systems and ordered patterns that can be found at a microscopic level.
It is from this conflict that space arises, seen as a meeting point between rational and irrational, with a heart of HI-MACS® that transforms the material into emotion.
In an imaginative space and full of surprises visitors can move, linger, enjoy the atmosphere and discover the myriad of possibilities offered by the range of the proposed materials, from the floor to the wall, from roofing to coatings.
For its realization it was chosen to experience the infinite possibilities of use of the materials, to obtain unexpected and surprising results.
The installation experiences two contrasting areas, the rational and the emotional area.
The rational area will host, in the center of the room, a work of extraordinary artistic value, which bears the imprint of the pattern of Marcel Wanders: an impressive medallion, slowly rotating, from which transpire all the beauty and versatility of acrylic stone New Generation HI-MACS®.
At the Fuorisalone 2015 Cesar will present, in the Milan showroom in Via Larga 23, Maxima 2.2, the innovative kitchen design signed by GV Plazzogna.

Able to cancel its presence in areas with small dimensions, Storage is both ideal for defining large spaces, creating unprecedented scenes of living, so precious and cozy to become a haven to relax and get lost in the care of oneself.
In a hunting adventure between the shelves and drawers of Storage, will be unveiled the first part of the collection of wooden boxes designed by designers that over the years have contributed to the success of the company.
But at Fuorisalone this year there is also room for a mix of design and street food.

Santambrogio area will present a circuit of exhibitions and events, with the participation of showrooms, shops and restaurants.
The novelty of this edition 2015 is the proposed occupation of Piazza Sant'Ambrogio, relaxation center and point of reference for visitors who want information and will start tours in beautiful places to discover Milan.
Furthermore, in Via San Vittore will be held the DO UT DESIGN: a collective of Italian and international designers who will exhibit their creations.
