Fixed and modern pull-out tables
The table: somebody prefers it important, somebody focuses on minimalism, somebody loves to play with contrasts of style with the chairs, somebody focuses on the security of a uniform style, to keep with the rest of the furnishing. There are many reasons why everyone chooses a precise style for the table, first of all, though, there is definitely an important consideration to make, which is that the right way to relate the table to the size and type of the space.
And here there are other considerations to keep in mind. One of all is to distinguish two very different situations but that characterize equally the choice, that is: there will be two tables, one for cooking one for the dining area, or a single table in a open space?
In the first case, most of the times the choice of the table in the kitchen is oriented towards something very practical, almost always in line with the style of the furniture of the kitchen itself, also because often the table is also used as a work surface, then the finish surface will be of practical materials, for example of the same material of the top work. The other table instead reflect a more refined aesthetic taste, more formal, perhaps because it represents an important element of furniture in a representative area of the house.
In the second case, however, being the only table, it will necessarily have to fulfill both functions, ie it should be practical and functional, but at the same time furnish the space with style.
Fixed modern tables
Among the proposals for
fixed tables that define it
important, or that category of tables which, by themselves, furnish a space and characterize it, we mark three models:
Octa by
Bonaldo,
Hybrid Decormarmi and
Zed COM.P.AR, three articles completely different in
materials and
stylistic concept. The table Bonaldo, Octa, has won the prestigious
Good Design Award for the most innovative product of the year in the category of
furniture. Like all award-winning products, including Octa will be exhibited permanently in the
Chicago Athenaeum, which organizes since
1950 the prestigious international design award, in collaboration with the
European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. There are eight legs of this very particular table, whose name derives precisely from the greek word
octo. It was designed by
Bartoli Design for Bonaldo, drawing inspiration from the
game of
shanghai. The eight legs are in fact the protagonists of this project, are made of
metal rod bent and welded to an appearance of lightness and great strength and stability.
The plan Octa is available in various finishes, including the innovative surface made of
Laminam®, a high performance finish, which makes this table ideal in open spaces, where it is also the only table available for lunch.
Among other finishes you point out also the
lacquered wood or
solid wood and
crystal, always for the
plan, while the
base is in
painted or
chromed metal. Hybrid, by Decormarmi is a table in the middle between the
dining table and
the tea table, both for
aesthetic and
size. It is made of
marble and decorated with
brass studs, and precisely because of these stylistic features is able to converse in harmony with the spaces around, performing multiple functions simultaneously.
The marble adopted in the implementation of Ibrido is the refined
Verde Ming marble polished finished, while the brass-plated studs applied in draw a line pattern elegant cross on the floor.
Hybrid fits with its simple elegance in both classic and contemporary living spaces. Its measurements are
330 cm L x 74 cm W x 64 cm H. Zed,
Andrea Lucatello design, rather than a table is a sculpture. Available with
walnut top or
ceramic, has important measures:
240 cm x 100 cm. Therefore it needs adequate spaces that give the correct visual perspective to this piece of furniture that is apparently make the visual effect
de-stabilizing effect but, in fact, perfectly balanced of the
base its real strength.
The clever interlocking of the two elements that make up the backbone of the top, has as a result a stylistic trait very sleek and lightweight, which makes sense, as the
sign snappy pencil that has generated it on the sheet of paper. Extendible table with glass
Space permitting, in an open space with one table-service kitchen and living room, an optimal solution is to place an extendable table, but also large enough also to be closed, perhaps with a glass top, visually lightweight material for definition, and that therefore doesn't burden with a bulky presence while allowing to have some more place, when necessary.
Again by COM.P.AR., Traverse, design STC, has tempered glass top and chromed steel frame, and has measures 200 cm x 100 cm when closed, to which add 2 lateral extensions 45 cm each, equivalent to 4 more seats.
The structure of the base is positioned so as to allow comfortable sitting around, exploiting all the floor, even when it is fully open.
