Molteni beds: design and great quality

Big brands or even small artisan companies have ventured into the production of this piece of furniture focusing on contemporary design without neglecting quality requirements.

Among these Molteni & C, which is an internationally acclaimed Italian brand with an 80-year history behind it, most definitely deserves a mention.

Molteni beds are really incredble, let's start with the double bed Ribbon, which is a soft upholstered bed with a modern design made with natural materials that comes from the project of Vincent Van Duysen, a Flemish designer who inaugurates his entry into Molteni & C.

The upholstery, either textile or leather, has a leather detail along the entire perimeter of the headboard and bed frame, which has both an aesthetic and a structural function. The structure is in solid wood and plywood, the feet in anodized aluminum the length is 190 cm; the depth of 211; cm height 110 cm.

The model is also available with the most amazing tilting base and with a wonderful container underneath, a resource which can be very useful to keep in mind when there is little space to store linen.

Duetto: a sofa bed with headboard that converts into a double bed

FLOU Spa is an amazing company which is operating since 1978, the year of the launch of Nathalie: the first modern padded and removable textile bed, it is still standard bearer in the world of Made in Italy design and quality. Removing and lifting the second bed to the level of the first is very easy, thanks to the wheels and an effective piston system.

Fluttua Wildwood, which is surely unusual enough to leave everyone a little baffled at first glance, is a very special bed which is born from the creative mind of Daniele Lago. The company that produces it declares that it is the first suspended bed in the world and that it stands out for its originality.

Actuallt, whether or not it holds this world record is not so fundamental to know because Fluttua can boast many other appreciable characteristics that make it unique in its kind.

Lago: excellent quality beds

The evidently careful workmanship of the headboard, made of centenary Wildwood wood and handcrafted respecting the course of the veins, bears witness to the respect for an environment such as the forest. A choice that does not penalize the high aesthetic and decorative level.

The Talamo bed, which can be identified by being a simple, essential and comfortable model with the absence of any superfluous refinement, is designed by the very acclaimed English designer Damian Williamson for Zanotta, a company that has always pursued an idea of a contemporary home through a fruitful combination between art and craftsmanship.

Sober and rigorous shapes for the solid steel structure, balance of proportions, associated with the thin feet are the result of a successful operation of material lightening that gives Talamo slenderness, lightness and dynamism to the point that it seems to escape the weight of gravity.

Here are two requirements which the technical specifications of the product immediately take into account: feet in natural or black nickel-plated aluminum alloy, or black painted and an amazing steel structure with curved beech slats.

Special double beds

Tum Amet, a wonderful fabric bed with an high headboard, is one of the last models to come out of the Inspiration Collection, conceived by the creative genius of Paolo Castelli who is a heir to a long dynasty of artisans and industrialists, dating back to 1887.

Tum Amet, which entered into production in 2020, is a double bed that adds to the structure of its predecessor Tum bed an elegant system of three screens, the central fixed one and the lateral ones sliding along a track on the ground, made of a tubular wooden structure.

The prevailing choice of a natural material such as wood is quite indicative of the artisan heritage that distinguishes the production. These matierials, on the other hand, can also be treated in order to make the model available in various types of dark stained oak or matt lacquered, with metal inserts in matt bronze shadow finish.

The covering of the panels is also available in a wide range of fabrics and colors and this facilitates the best matching of the bed with the color of the walls and the rest of the bedroom furniture. Mattress dimensions: 180 x 200 cm.
