You have looked for it for years and now that you've found it you can not wait to make it your own, the attic of your dreams, perhaps embellished with a beautiful terrace overlooking the city center: before writing about furniture, however, I would like to submit a couple of points to be taken into account in case your attic should be also renewed.
One thing to consider carefully is the heating system: the attic being obviously more exposed to climatic variations than an on floor apartment, the best choice is to create a climate control system so as to ensure warmth in winter and cool in summer: if the premises of your attic are exposed to the south-east or south-west - thus very sunny during the summer - the advice is to provide for the accommodation of additional shielding, such as curtains.
Another consideration should be made as regards the color of the walls: the attics often have different heights so the choice of the tones should be made also on the basis of this. Specifically, if the rooms are large and maybe double height, there are two options: to play it safe and choose the white color can enhance both furnishings and any structural beams, or dare choosing shades more aggressive - for example Marsala - so to give some of personality to your nest.
Living in a very small house I might be biased but I have always liked the idea of an open space: beyond of my logistical problems, I like the idea of merging spaces and functions, especially between living room and kitchen, as well to create a single place where to communicate and share. A great example that makes good my idea is given by Ice, kitchen offered by Febal, designed by Dario Poles, owner of the studio Graphosds that, as shown in the image clearly, integrates seamlessly with the space dedicated to making living together smooth and elegant.
The peninsula, in fact, ideally divides the functions of the kitchen and living room but not the spaces, thus creating a harmonious distribution of the latter without one dominating the other: among the multiple colors stands out the cherry red, very current, and the city gray that just does the job.
More than a novelty it is a rediscovery: is the Industrial Style, a very popular trend in the 70s and that came back strongly today so much so that large companies such as Maisons du Monde to propose a line inspired to it, its called Industrial. From here I begin my brief selection proposing the 3 seats chesterfield sofa in leather: this is a truly timeless model, which had a large spread in the late twentieth century and today Maisons du Monde proposes a sofa bed version.
To return to the idea of the division between the kitchen and living room I mentioned before, you could use a free standing elegant library: It is self-supporting modular structures that, by not requiring a retainer wall as classic libraries, can also be used as room dividers. Rimadesio offers the Wind collection: this model in particular, designed by Giuseppe Bavuso, is composed of a modular system made entirely in aluminum with brown backs in gray reflective glass. The terminal elements are made of MDF covered with aluminum on both faces.
As for the bedroom give preference to light colors on the walls and floors so to enhance the furnishings - especially the dark ones - and complements: do not let the name fool you, Dialma Brown is an Italian company specialized in the production of furniture and accessories urban and industrial style, well represented in this photo. Beautiful and elegant is the wooden headboard of the bed, made with the same working shutters on which stands an original wooden clock consisting of four quadrants that recalls the design of the gears.
Still some ideas on furniture for the terrace, which in summer becomes almost an extra room where you can spend pleasant moments: if the surface allows it, you might consider the idea of settling in a gazebo. A great example is given by Capri, proposed by Bizzotto: it is a galvanized iron frame covered with a polyester canvas in ecru, with dimensions 3,00x3,00 meters to a maximum height of 2.55 meters.
To complete your living room from outside, I suggest you take a look at the chairs of the line Canasta B & B Italy designed by Particia Urquiola: the idea of the famous Spanish architect is to revisit in a modern patterns of interlacing typical machining straw through the use of modern materials and technologies.
