Think of how many times a day we open and close the water tap, both with lever mixer and with the traditional knob: to wash, to take a glass of water, to rinse an object, to wash vegetables ... You can imagine the wear and tear that you submit the equipment to, all these cycles of opening and closing, even though today taps are extremely robust, designed and manufactured to withstand all kinds of wear.
But science and electronics can help us even more, if some of the functions and settings that will be applied to a mixer, can be controlled through touch screen technology.
This technology, which was already born in the eighties and used for the operation of devices such as ATM or information desks, it is now widely grown especially for the use of smartphones and tablets. The inputs are sent through the interaction between a touchscreen and a digitizer, which allows the user to interact with a graphical user interface, simply through the touch of a finger or particular objects.
No wonder, then, that some years ago the British company producing taps, Vado, has decided to equip the v-touch tap with a screen, which displays water temperature, it can also adjust it, together with the stream, with the touch of your fingers.
The functions of this faucet are similar to those of similar products offered by other companies and provide, in addition to the controls and touch controls, the digital control of the in and out water flow, and an indicator that measures the temperature regulator, which is indicated through the operation of some red and blue LED.
What changes compared to other similar products is instead the position of the touch pad that is integrated into the faucet itself, and not instead of a console at the side as in other models.
The spout of the faucet intersects with the plane touch, creating a sculptural line.
The faucet is available in chrome or black, for the price, not really affordable for all budgets, from 1,299 pounds, but is accompanied by a warranty of 12 years.
Thanks to Nomos, the revolutionary mixer designed by Castiglia Associati Design, FIMA Carlo Frattini has once again demonstrated its focus on innovation and research.
Designed both for the bathroom and the kitchen, this mixer faucet touch screen, unique on the market, it is in fact the result of a search that lasted three years, and is now able to provide high-level security and mechanical durability, as evidenced by the seven year warranty.
Select Comfort is an electronic touch panel designed by Phoenix Design design studio that has long collaborated with Kaldewei, thanks to which you can control all the functions required for the bath tub.
With a single mechanism, which is conveniently located along the edge of the tub, it is possible to adjust the flow and temperature of the water and the operation of the aerator.
The system consists of three elements: a control panel with electronic control unit, the valves for the discharge and the overflow and a flexible hose for shower.
The panel allows you to select the exact temperature you want the water, before starting to supply it. So if you set a certain value, it will come from the tap in the precise temperature from the first moment. If you then want to change the value in the course of the stream, you can do it with simple touches, at intervals of plus or minus 0.5°C.
For safety reasons, the temperature can be set initially only up to a maximum of 43°C, but later, with a particular key combination, you can bring up to 50°C.
Also the features fill and water drain, can be electronically controlled from this panel, performing a light touch on the controls with symbols of these functions.
Finally, from the panel you can control the flexible shower head, on which you can fix any shower handset and can be built in at the poolside or fixed externally.
Select Comfort is combined with the series of bath tubs Avantgarde and Environment.
